Industry Outlook, 2013: Mortgage & Home Equity Loans,
our Fall annual outlook study covering both the mortgage and home
equity industries, is now available for purchase.
This year's study contains special sections that look beyond
our usual one-year forward view. Mortgage and home equity loan
production will change radically, and for a very long time, when the
current refi boom comes to an end.
We examine the impact of QE3, HARP2, and national politics in
detail. We also introduce the nation's new banks, formerly thrifts,
some with assets exceeding $100 billion.
Another special section includes newly released metro area
data from the 2010 Census. It covers basic housing statistics, home
ownership rates, and the most likely hot spots for reverse mortgages
and first-time home buyers.
As always, the study contains lender-by-lender data,
including mortgage production, home equity receivables, credit
quality data, top servicers, foreclosure rates, and more through the
first half of 2012.
